Step 1
Step One: Designing your Aquine

So you've taken a look at all of the content on this website and are finally ready to make your own?

The first step in creating your Aquine is understanding how their bodies work. Though they are made of stardust that takes the form of glass, they do not present any sparkles and look simply glass-like.

Aquines are earth ponies only and do not have horns or wings.

If you have not purchased a Potion of Colour, also known as the Coloured Glass trait, your Aquine must have clear or white glass, set to a low opacity.

There are no other differences in anatomy compared to a normal pony, so if you need to use a base, a regular MLP one will suffice. Please keep in mind that Aquines do not have fur, horns or any other abnormal traits to them. We have allowed a couple in the past due to friendliness but it really doesn't fit the species so if you are seen putting fur on your Aquine, horns or any other abnormal trait we will ask that you kindly remove it.

You can click the button below to read more about the Glass types an Aquine can have if you wish to purchase one of those traits.

Step 2
Step Two: Design The Eyes

All Aquines have normal, visible eyes with the exception of Swimming Pool Aquines which have closed eyes. The eyes must have a white sclera, an iris (of any colour) and a black pupil (or a darker version of the Iris colour if that is how you draw eyes)

Eyes must not have any abnormal shapes or designs to them, as that is a potential upcoming trait for Royal Aquines.

You can add eyelashes to Aquines that are female.

Step 3
Step Three: Pick a Habitat
From the Water Types found by clicking the button below, choose one listed as "common". For this example I chose "River". As listed on the Water Type page, a River can range from almost puddle shallow to ocean high, so I chose a point midway for mine.

I also added a gradient to my Aquine, as they usually have gradients. 1-3 colours is the restriction and they must be valid water colours. (You cant have rainbow water, or purple-pink water gradients, unless there is a real river with those colours)

Be sure to check all the rules for the water type that you choose, as some have water level and colour restrictions. You can add a nice glassy outline effect by making a new layer on luminosity and outlining your Aquine in white and then lowering the opacity.

Step 4
Step Four: Mane & Tail

Aquines can have regular mains and tails like normal Ponies. Any colour, gradient or design. We don't restrict anything like that, however traditional unicorn tails or other animal tails are not allowed. Water manes and tails or any other physical texture are rare traits that can be rewarded through a special Quest in the future.

I chose a nice purple to pink gradient for this Aquine as its water has a cool vibe to it. Try to keep the hairstyle and colours somewhat relevant to your habitat, as it makes the Aquine look a lot more thought through and well designed.

Step 5
Step Five: Creatures, plants and decorations

It is highly reccommended that you research your Aquine's water type before adding plants and creatures to it as there are some climates that prohibit certain plant life and creatures, and you wouldn't want to break the physical laws of nature. Don't make the mitake I did with Icy Waters when I first made an Aquine by giving an Arctic themed Aquine clownfish :|

I found a super helpful guide for river animals when I designed this Aquine and it gave a nice variety of creatures. I chose an eel and a pike to go inside the water, and a dragonfly in the air. Creatures are no longer restricted, but we do ask that you don't overcrowd it.

I stuck some pebbles in the hooves and gave it some sea grass as well, sounds about right? There is also a chunk of terrain on the surface which I didn't actually draw correctly (it should be sitting in the curve of her chest-belly, but I mistakingly drew it going into her leg LOL. It would have worked in the legs if I had also given the right leg some terrain too, but anyway just be careful with terrain and make sure it follows the laws of gravity and nature haha!

As for objects, you won't be adding them to your Aquine just yet. There is a special Quest that takes your Aquine on a self-finding journey to Equestria where they will find the Objects that connect to them and then bring them back to Galacia where they are put inside their bodies.
