FAQ
Q. What are Aquines?
A. Aquarium Equines, also known as Aquines are a species created by Pinipy. Their bodies are made of "glass" and inside their glass is a beautiful Aquatic world that can vary depending on the Water Type chosen. Each Aquine has a unique appearance, and no two Aquines will ever be alike.

Inside an Aquine is its own unique environment and world with a large variety of creatures, plant life and objects. Some Aquines even have terrain growing from their backs or even hair made of water.
Q. Can I edit my Aquine's appearance?
A. You can make minor edits to the outside appearance of an Aquine, including hairstyle, hair colour and eye colour, however, once you have designed your Aquine and it has been approved, the Water Type, Creatures, Plant life and Objects cannot change without the Transformation Potion, available for purchase with money, points or shards in the Marketplace.

Q. Can I make customs, adoptables and auctions?
A. Only users listed as "Staff" or "Artist" are allowed to create Aquines and sell them for money. This includes customs, auctions and adoptables.

Q. What are 'Shards'?
A. Crystal Shards, also known as "Shards" are small fragments of crystal from the massive Crystal that lies within the heart of Haven, Galacia's Central Region. Aquines use these "Shards" as a currency, and as such, when you as an artist draw an Aquine, whether it is your own, someone else's or even the Aquine mascot, you will earn Shards which can be used to purchase additional Aquine MYO. You can read up on Shards and how they are used over Here.

Q. What are 'Tearstones'?
A. Tearstones are small, blue, tear shaped stones that are given to Aquines in the same way Experience points would be given to a Pokemon after battle. Each time an Aquine features in an Artwork or piece of writing, it will earn a specific amount of Tearstones which will count towards leveling it up!

Tearstones stick to your Aquines forever and as they rank up, they will be given special rewards. You can find out all about Tearstones over here.

Q. Can I make my own for free? How many?
A. You can create 1 Aquine for free using common traits with no strings attached. This means you do not have to participate in the species at all unless you wish to do so. However, if you want to make more than 1 Aquine, or use traits listed as uncommon or rare, you will need to participate in the species and earn Shards which can be used to buy traits, or spend real money or deviantART points to continue making new Aquines.

Q. What are Aquines made out of?
A. An Aquine's glass is made out of a special Stardust that was created when Queen Galacia tried to create the perfect world. The stardust was made from the worlds that failed to be and when combined with a Water type from one of the five regions, an Aquine is created.

Q. I like *insert trait name*, how can I buy it?
A. If you have found a trait that you wish to purchase, the first thing you will want to do is either send a note to the deviantART group, message Pinipy on Facebook, or send an email using the contact form. You will want to include your details along with the method of payment so that your new items can be recorded easily in the Aquine bank. In the future there will be pixels of each trait which will be uploaded to DeviantART and to facebook where you can purchase the item by commenting on the deviation or post related to that item.
Aquine owners are required to adhere to all rules listed below along with the Terms of Service. By participating in the species and creating your own Aquine Pony, it is assumed that you have read all the rules and ToS listed here.

Basic Rules
-
Treat everyone with respect and kindness.

-
Personally I believe this is one of the most important rules of all. As a community it is your utmost duty to treat everyone you meet here with respect. This goes for personal issues: we are a community about a fictional species and as such it is not our responsibility to babysit those wishing to create drama for others. Please keep any non-Aquine related drama out of our community! This include personal issues with other members.

-
You must provide as much proof as possible on the matter so that it is easier for us to understand what is going on. The offenders will not be told who reported them, and your privacy will be kept! If you have any issues at all with users or staff please send a note either to the group or to Pinipy.

-
We do not allow racism, abuse, bullying or hostile behavior towards members and staff.

-
You will be given a warning if you are caught acting in a way that is not polite! Repeated offenses will get you booted from the group and the species for a period of time depending on the severety of your behavior. This means you will not be allowed to adopt Aquines, participate in the ARPG or otherwise associate with Aquines with the exception of any Aquines you already own.

Aquine Ownership Rules
-
You Must be a member of either the Facebook Aquine group, the DeviantART Aquine Group or both depending on which platform you wish to participate in. Join requests for both groups are accepted automatically. You can unwatch the group deviations if you wish to do so, however, you need to check back here and then to make sure you are up to date with everything that is going on. Failure to keep up to date could result in accidental breaking of rules if something changes.

-
If you change your username or move accounts, please let us know immediately by sending us a note or a message on Facebook! We keep track of lists manually, so we'll need to rearrange things for users who change usernames/accounts.

-
All Aquine ownership changes must be recorded either on the DeviantART Ownership Transfer thread, or the Facebook Ownership Transfer post. If you sell, trade, or give away an Aquine you own, it is your responsibility to let us know of the new owner! We list owners to prevent scamming, so we need to always know who owns what Aquine.

-
Co-owning an Aquine between multiple owners is not allowed (with the exception of Aquines created from Love Stones if the parents belong to seperate owners). Sorry, but this tends to cause trouble and also creates unnecessary extra work regarding Masterlists. All other Aquines may only have one listed owner!

-
You are allowed to make small design changes to things like your Aquine's hair colour and Style and eye colour, however, all changes must be approved by a Staff Admin, so you will need to either use the Contact Form or send a message to Pinipy over on DeviantART or Facebook.

Design Rules
-
You are allowed to create one Aquine with common traits for no cost.

-
If you want to create another you must either use money, deviantART Points or Shards to purchase another MYO slot.

-
Additional Common traits after your first Aquine, can currently be purchased for $1.50 or 150 or 15 Shards

-
Uncommon traits can currently be purchased for $3 or 300 or 50 Shards

-
Rare traits can currently be purchased for $6 or 600 or 100 Shards

-
Event specific traits cannot be purchased in MYO slots and are given out as adoptables during events.

-
Aquines may not have wings, horns, antlers, deer tails, cat tails, traditional unicorn tails or any other features that would otherwise change the anatomy unless another exception is given.

-
Aquines may not have cracks or leakage unless it was applied to your Aquine through a Quest or Event.

-
We no longer use soul pearls and life streams however you can still keep them on your Aquine, they just don't relate to the lore anymore.

-
Your Aquine must have normal eyes. Shaped pupils within reason are fine

-
Your design must not closely resemble another owner's Aquine. Sharing the same theme is fine, replicating the creatures and plant life inside or making designs based off other peoples is not.

-
Do not use other people's Aquines as a guide for what should go inside it. They are there as examples however all Aquines are unique. If you don't know what should be going inside your Aquine, leave us a comment on the Questions and Answers journal.

-
You may re-use designs if you no longer feel attached to the species, however they must no longer resemble an Aquine whatsoever and you must contact a member of Staff to let us know that you are withdrawing your character from the species so that we can add "Retired" to the entry on the Masterlist, letting people know that the character is no longer part of the species, however, it was originally an Aquine and is "legitimate".
Art Rules

-
Tracing is forbidden. No exceptions
-
Try to create stories within your artwork to give it character and life. Refrain from re-using old scenes, poses or backgrounds.
-
All art must be SFW. Aquine's dont have vaginas, breasts or penises so please don't add them on for the sake of wondering what it would look like on a glass horse. That is disgusting, we do not allow that.
-
Adding story text in the description of your art is encouraged and will award you bonus Shards.

Breeding Rules
-
You may not breed your Aquines outside the annual Valentines Day event.

-
The event is held annually in the week of Valentines Day.

-
You need a Lovestone in order to participate

-
Lovestones can be given out during events, randomly acquired, or purchased with Shard/Points/Cash if they randomly appear in the marketplace.

-
Breeding can occur between same sex couples

-
Breeding will take place on a special deviation or journal

-
You must read all the rules again on that page and then comment with the required text

-
You may choose the gender and suggest any colours or styles that you would like, however the Breeding Aquine will reply to your comment in detail explaining the design of your new character.

-
If you want an Aquine Approved Artist to design it for you, you can also agree on a commission beforehand.

-
Aquine traits will be determined by the rarity of both parents.

-
More information will be posted in the Valentines Day event journal/deviation
